The Munich Startup Award will be presented on 19 July 2023 in front of 1,000 visitors of the 1st Munich Startup Festival Selected startups will compete against each other in two semifinals of the pitch competition at the festival. A top-class jury will then select the winners of the Munich Startup Award. These will receive €5,000 and be entitled to call themselves "Munich Startup of the Year."

To apply To be eligible, startups must be located in the greater Munich area, specifically in the city or district of Munich or one of the districts of Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Freising, Fürstenfeldbruck, Landsberg am Lech or Starnberg. Participating companies must also be no older than five years by the deadline of July 19, 2023. The products or services developed by the startup must pursue an innovative and scalable approach. In addition, a functional or demonstrable prototype of the product or service must already exist. All startups wishing to apply must be registered in our Startup listing be listed (enter here).
The degree of innovation, the business idea, feasibility, market potential, competitive advantage, team, scalability, customer loyalty and social impact are evaluated.
The previous winners of the Munich Startup Awards are Cleverciti, Catchys, Inveox, Hawa Dawa, Pylot and Pixel Robotics. The award has previously been presented at the Munich startup conference Bits & Pretzels.
