Wavelab Incubator seeks startups for Batch #3

The Wavelab Incubator for Tech Startups in Music, Arts & Media at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts is a funding program for technology-based startups working on solutions for the cultural and creative industries. The third batch of the program starts in November 2022, and interested applicants can apply until August 31.

With its incubator, the Wavelab supports ideas that disrupt, complement, or support the cultural and creative industries. To this end, it has set up a hybrid program that alternates between on-site weeks and remote work phases. During the six-month program, participants can expect individually tailored coaching sessions with suitable experts, matching and exchange with experienced mentors from the cultural, tech, and business sectors, and free coworking space.

In addition, the network of Incubators Access to cultural institutions and companies – from subculture to high culture – and connects young companies with other players in the Munich startup ecosystem and technology companies. Investors, sponsors, and potential customers are also part of this network.

Application by August 31

We are looking for teams of at least two founders who are using new technologies to solve a problem in the music, arts, or media sectors. A working prototype should be within reach, and a concrete market entry should be planned. Furthermore, the Wavelab emphasizes that the submitted ideas are innovative, sustainably financeable, and scalable. And, of course, participants are expected to be physically present during the on-site phases of the program.

Anyone who would like to apply to participate in the Wavelab Incubator has until August 31 Time. The online application requires an introductory video of the team and idea, as well as a pitch deck and financial plan. The most promising teams will then be invited to an introductory call by Wavelab in September. The program then starts on November 7.

Anyone who wants to learn more about the Wavelab and the Incubator beforehand will have the opportunity to do so on July 21. On that day, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be a digital information session where not only the program will be presented, but also alumni from previous batches will have their say.
