Wavelab Incubator Batch #5: Startups wanted

With the Wavelab Incubator, the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts supports tech startups in the fields of music, art, and media. The goal is to develop technological solutions for the cultural and creative industries. The fifth batch of the program begins in November 2024. The application deadline is September 15.

Founders who want to disrupt, complement, or support the cultural and creative industries are in the right place at the Wavelab Incubator. The program combines three intensive weeks of in-person instruction with digital workshops and offers participants individual coaching sessions with suitable experts. Like a modular system, startups can choose from the offerings according to their needs. They also benefit from matching and exchange with experienced mentors from the cultural, tech, and business sectors, as well as free coworking space.

The network of Wavelab provides access to cultural institutions and companies – from subculture to high culture – and connects startups with other players in the Munich startup ecosystem and technology companies. Investors, sponsors, and potential customers are also part of this network.

Wavelab Incubator: Apply by September 15

Teams of at least two founders are eligible to apply. Their idea has a clear connection to music, art, or media and utilizes new technologies. A working prototype should be within reach; the official founding of the startup is not yet required. Wavelab emphasizes innovative, sustainably financed, and scalable solutions. Participants must be available in Munich during the on-site phases.

Applications for the Wavelab Incubator are open until September 15. For the online application, applicants must submit an introductory video of their team and idea, a pitch deck, and a financial plan. The most promising teams will receive an invitation to an introductory call in September. The program starts in November.
