The new incubator program, called Founders@unibw, aims to provide intensive support to selected startups. It offers mentoring and financing support. The founders also receive access to offices and laboratories.
Who should apply?
All (very young) startups and (future) founders whose ideas fit the university's motto are welcome. These include areas such as mobility, aerospace, defense, and technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). Startups in the Internet of Things (IoT), additive manufacturing (3D printing), robotics, and augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) are also welcome. Social entrepreneurs also have a place.
It doesn't matter whether you're still studying or already working. International teams are equally welcome. The Founders@unibw incubator program focuses on the idea and its novelty, scalability, and potential. Equally important is the founding team and their personal commitment to developing the idea further.
Startups that have taken their first steps at UniBw M include the battery startup M-Bee and Molabowho have developed an alternative electric drive.
When and how can startups apply to Founders@unibw?
The program will be offered every semester (October, January, April, July) and lasts approximately ten weeks. Founders@unibw begins with a two-day kick-off, followed by several half-day workshops until the Demo Day ceremoniously concludes the program.
Applications for the incubator program are open until October 1, 2020. The selection process is based on a submitted presentation, in which the team presents the following topics in a short application video: problem, solution, team, market, competition, and business model.
