The 3D printing startup Kumovis has announced a new collaboration with measurement system manufacturer Grapho Metronic. The cooperation will enable the startup to offer its customers an in-line control system.
The so-called "Grapho Inline Control Additive Manufacturing" monitoring system could help users of Kumovis' 3D printers optimize their processes in the future. It is intended to improve the so-called fused layer manufacturing (FLM) process with 100 percent quality control. Sebastian Pammer, Head of R&D at Kumovis, comments on the new collaboration as follows:
“We are testing both real-time error detection and the optimal use of the in-line process optimization solution for R1 users.”
Experienced partner in process optimization for Kumovis
Miriam Haerst, co-founder of the 3D printing startup, sees the collaboration as a great opportunity:
"Our vision is to provide the healthcare sector with a holistic ecosystem for medical FLM processing, making personalized treatments with patient-specific medical devices accessible to everyone. We therefore look forward to further development with Grapho Metronic as an experienced partner in process optimization and automation."
The managing director of Grapho Metronic, Manuel Kosok, is very positive about the cooperation:
"Grapho Metronic is known as the market leader for modern measurement and control technology, especially in the printing industry. Together with Kumovis, we are now expanding our range of services and taking the next step into Industry 4.0."
