University certificate “Founding your own startup”

Together with the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE), the Munich University of Applied Sciences (HM) has launched the university certificate “Founding your own startup” for students and external founders.

This is the first certificate program at the university aimed directly at young entrepreneurs. Not only students can apply, but also potential external founders. The decisive factor for acceptance into the program is an innovative, scalable startup idea. Participation is free of charge, but the usual fees (student union and solidarity contribution) are due.

What awaits the participants

Program participants and their startups are accepted into the SCE's Proto-Support Program. They receive not only intensive consulting from SCE startup experts and the opportunity to participate in workshops, seminars, and networking events, but also access to the SCE incubator's facilities and HM's infrastructure for a period of six months. They also receive €2,500 for the development of an initial prototype.

The certificate program lasts a total of two semesters and includes two modules (“Evaluation of your own business idea” and “Realization of your own business idea”), each worth 5 ECTS.
Participants are enrolled and granted university status for the duration of the program.
