The Insurtech Hub Munich is launching the fourth edition of the W1 Forward Insurtech Accelerator. Startups can apply for the program until March 7, 2019.
Currently, the Insurtech Hub Munich (ITHM) is accepting applications for the fourth edition of the W1 Forward Insurtech Accelerator. Launched in 2015, the eight-week program is aimed at international early-stage startups developing digital solutions for the insurance industry—and beyond.
Think unconventionally and on a large scale
The accelerator offers workshops, personal mentoring and coaching sessions, and the transfer of insurance knowledge. Startups are supported in making their ideas market-ready and appealing to potential investors, and they develop pilot projects together with ITHM partner companies.
“We are looking for real disruptors who are not afraid to think outside the box and on a large scale,”
says Manuel Holzhauer, Managing Director of ITHM.
“Established insurance companies are now realizing that competition will no longer come solely from within their own ranks, but that the Tech Big 5 such as Amazon, Apple, and Alphabet, as well as successful insurtechs, are penetrating the market with force.”
Insurtech Hub Munich: Door opener for the insurance industry
Holzhauer goes on to list what the Insurtech Hub offers startups:
"We have a broad network of experts and coaches, investors, universities, and, of course, our alumni. Our biggest USP, however, is that we can open the doors for startups to our 12 partners in the insurance industry—from leading international companies to local champions—as well as PwC and Roche."
Once startups have reached an advanced growth phase (later stage), the second of ITHM’s accelerator programs offers them Insurtech Europe powered by Plug&Play, further support.
