2nd place: What large agricultural companies have long been using, the Munich startup wants Karevo also for small and medium-sized farms: A compact, retrofittable sorting machine that automatically sorts out defective tubers thanks to computer vision and artificial intelligence – without any tedious manual work. 3rd place: With an innovative energy concept, Solation new standards in supplying commercial properties with locally generated solar power. Founded in 2023, the cleantech company has installed a photovoltaic system with a peak output of 55.9 kilowatts on a rented warehouse belonging to the technology group Knorr-Bremse. 4th place: Daimler Truck and the Defencetech Arx Robotics signed a letter of intent for a strategic partnership at the beginning of April. Together, they plan to integrate AI and robotics technologies into military vehicle platforms. In particular, the Unimog and Zetros models of Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks are planned to be upgraded with sensor and software modules. 5th place: Dock Financial was considered a beacon of hope in the Munich fintech scene. The company developed customized financial solutions for various industries and supported its partners in the integration of financial features. The startup had previously attracted attention with the acquisition of Paydora and Compeon. However, the young company was unable to raise fresh venture capital. At the end of May 2024, both Dock Financial GmbH and its affiliated Dock Financial Capital GmbH filed for preliminary insolvency. Now, the fintech has apparently found a buyer in Rakuten.
