SXSW 2024: These startups are heading to Austin for Munich

This year, Munich Startup, together with Munich Business and the Munich Culture and Creative Industries Competence Team, is once again sending selected startups as part of a delegation to SXSW in Austin. Among them are Ägile Ässets, Angsa Robotics, Atopia, Bavertis, Certivity, Dromni, Elive, Envoria, and Summ AI.

SXSW combines a technology conference and cultural festival in one, attracting numerous guests each year. Tech pioneers and innovators, startups and companies, creatives and artists from all over the world will converge from March 8 to 16. Speakers announced so far for SXSW 2024 include chip manufacturer AMD's president and CEO Lisa Su and Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, as well as writer and director Jennette McCurdy and actress Rosario Dawson.

The state capital of Munich will once again contribute to the conference's hustle and bustle with a delegation this year. Along with representatives from the city administration, business, and the cultural and creative sectors, nine startups will also attend the event in Austin.

Ägile Ässets

With its social media management tool, Ägile Ässets Help marketers design and plan campaigns more easily and successfully – across multiple channels, languages, and brands. The solution also uses artificial intelligence, for example, in post creation and, in the future, for trend analysis.

Angsa Robotics

The autonomous robot platform from Angsa Robotics relies on artificial intelligence and machine learning to automatically clear green spaces of waste. Even cigarette butts and broken glass are no problem for the cleaning robot. With its solution, the Munich-based startup aims to increase the efficiency and sustainability of waste management in parks and other green spaces.

Atopia

The virtual reality startup Atopia is building a platform where museums, galleries and sights from around the world can be experienced immersively from home – interactively and socially.

Atopia-Co-Founder Annabell Vacano lets you know:

"As SXSWW is the largest global conference for media and entertainment, we can't wait to make exciting connections with like-minded people and represent Munich's startup ecosystem."

Bavertis

The team of Bavertis has developed a combination of software and hardware that can extend the battery life of electric vehicles by up to 80 percent. At the same time, the solution is designed to significantly facilitate the integration of cars into the energy grid via Vehicle-to-X applications.

Niclas Lehnert, CEO and co-founder of Bavertis, is looking forward to SXSW:

"We are unlocking a new era of sustainable, circular battery electronics that will unlock the future of mobility! At SXSW, we look forward to presenting and discussing our solutions, engaging with global industry leaders and investors, and gaining valuable insights into the latest technology trends across various industries."

Certivity

Certivity With its platform, the startup aims to digitize, simplify, and accelerate regulatory review in automotive development. To this end, the solution can be integrated into the development process to seamlessly connect the legal and regulatory world with the technical realm. In this way, the startup aims to enable smarter, safer, more transparent, more efficient, and more cost-effective management of regulatory requirements.

Dromni

The team of Dromni is working on enabling computers, and thus machines, to understand spaces like humans do. This should enable AI assistants to take over cost-intensive tasks and manual decision-making processes, leading to more efficient handling of complex projects.

Elive

Elive enables viewers to experience their favorite creators and athletes live. The startup has developed a cloud-based, end-to-end platform for remote production, enabling all industry players to deliver live formats produced in the cloud.

Envoria

Regulations such as the EU Taxonomy, the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, and the mandatory calculation of greenhouse gas emissions require new processes from companies in Europe. Among other things, they must collect, qualify, and disclose data from the areas of environmental, social, and corporate governance (the so-called ESG criteria). Envoria wants to help companies with exactly this.

Envoria CEO and co-founder Sven Schubert explains the focus he is flying to Austin with:

“Partnerships are our top priority, and we look forward to building new transatlantic connections and enhancing our capabilities and those of others.”

Summ AI

Easy Language isn't just about avoiding long sentences; it's a defined language style from the field of accessibility. It uses short sentences, simple grammar, and additional explanations to make information accessible and understandable for everyone. Until now, texts have been manually translated into easy language, which is expensive and time-consuming. The Munich-based startup Summ AI wants to change this with its AI-based technology. Its AI-supported tool 'Summ AI' automatically translates any complex text into plain language, making information accessible and understandable.

Founder and CEO Flora Geske says:

"Summ AI is the 'Google Translate' for easy language: an AI-powered tool that makes any complex text accessible and understandable for everyone. We work with governments and companies to help them comply with accessibility regulations at the touch of a button. At SXSW, we're looking for potential partners abroad and want to expand our growing network in the field of AI and accessibility!"
