Bobbie receives seven-figure investment

The digital building materials retailer Bobbie closes its current financing round with a seven-figure investment. The investment is supported by several companies from the building materials industry.

Bobbie digitizes the building materials trade and, with its platform, provides an interface between construction companies and manufacturers. The Munich-based startup aims to create transparency in the traditional building materials market. The platform provides construction companies, trade professionals, and DIY enthusiasts with an overview of building materials manufacturers and their products. Bobbie was able to onboard over 200 manufacturers last year.

In addition to the traditional services of a digital retailer, Bobbie also works closely with manufacturers. the startup For example, we provide technology and expertise for Product Information Management (PIM). This allows items, including all relevant data, to be integrated into the platform and associated BIM (Building Information Modeling) and e-procurement processes. This provides construction companies with a comprehensive range of information based on strict standards and full price transparency.

Bobbie receives support from the industry

Bamaka, one of the largest purchasing companies in the German construction industry, is participating in the now completed financing round. Bobbie has been the purchasing company's exclusive building materials partner since last year. BRZ Germany, a specialist in organizational processes and construction IT, and HG Commerciale (HGC) from Switzerland joined as additional investors and strategic partners. Like Bamaka, HGC is owned by construction contractors and tradespeople.

For Bobbie, the financing round is more than just a cash injection. For the Munich-based startup, it also means overcoming traditional structures and gaining support from the entire industry. Alexander Gran, co-founder of Bobbie, explains:

"This financing is a watershed moment and a strong signal from customers that they are finally ready to transition the building materials trade into the digital age. A large part of our industry has been waiting for this breakthrough for more than 20 years – and we are accordingly proud to be the driving force behind this development with Bobbie."

“Unique opportunities for modern and transparent procurement of building materials”

Sebastian Schneider, Head of Sales and Member of the Management Board of Bamaka, says:

"Bobbie offers unique opportunities for modern and transparent procurement channels for building materials throughout Germany. As a service provider to the construction industry, we want to offer our association members a broad range of smart procurement options, thereby significantly minimizing effort and process costs. Therefore, it is only logical for us to expand our cooperation with Bobbie."

David Pfender, Startup Manager at BRZ, continues:

"The digitalization of the construction industry through organizational consulting, a cloud-based ERP platform, and outsourcing services is our core business; our DNA is digital. Accordingly, we firmly believe in the impending, profound changes in the building materials trade and are convinced that Bobbie's business model is the right one to achieve this in digital transformation."

And Martin Tobler, Chief Executive Officer at HCG, adds:

"We have long been pursuing a strategy to digitize the building materials trade in Switzerland and have been very successful with it. We see that there is also great market potential in Germany. We are excited to now be able to leverage this potential together with Bobbie and continue to grow as a leading digital provider."
