Wayra leads the ranking of the best innovation units

The business magazine Capital examines the best innovation units of corporations in Germany. The Munich-based innovation department of the Telefónica Group leads the ranking in one of the four categories.

Capital has published rankings in four categories: core business-related and non-core business innovations in industry and services. In core business-related innovations in the service sector, Wayra ahead of ERGO Innovation & Digital Transformation, SAP.io and Vinci Energies Digital. two previous years Wayra was still ranked second and third in the rankings.

Wayra has been Relaunch in 2017 with a venture client model. Instead of investing in startups, the goal since then has been to establish Telefónica as a client of startups. This way, innovations can be implemented where they are actually needed in the specialist departments. Startups have the opportunity to grow through collaboration with real customers and revenue. Florian Bogenschütz, Managing Director at Wayra Germany, says:

The first place in the Capital ranking shows that venture clienting is the best way to bring startups together with established companies.
