Making Munich a little greener – under this premise, the Munich startup Userlane called on fellow Munich startups and scaleups to take part in a four-week fundraising run in May. For every kilometer run, the participating companies were asked to donate up to one euro to Green City eV A total of 120 runners from the companies Everstox, Magazine, Navvis, Parcellab, Riskmethods, Salesfive and User lane finally laced up their running shoes. From May 1 to June 1, all participants ran a total of 10,098 kilometers. The result: donations totaling €8,076.98.
Ranking of the most diligent runners
On June 8, the winners were announced and the check was presented to Green City eV. While the runners could only connect via Zoom due to the coronavirus pandemic, Green City employees Nina Köninger and Christina Pirner personally visited the Userlane office on Rosenheimer Straße to receive the check.
With a total of 2,277.98 kilometers, employees of the charity run initiator Userlane ran the most kilometers, closely followed by Navvis, a specialist in the production of photorealistic digital twins (2,215.8 kilometers), and Riskmethods, a provider of AI-based SCRM software (1,710.69 kilometers). Looking at the kilometers run per person, Riskmethods leads the ranking with 90 kilometers. Following in second place are the operations experience and shipping communication specialist Parcellab (83.8 kilometers per person), and Userlane (75.9 kilometers per person).
Userlane co-founder Hartmut Hahn says about the running campaign:
"Munich is a great city to live and work in. It was truly impressive to see how much everyone involved in our fundraising run put in to make Munich a little more livable. At the same time, it was also a great way to lose a few COVID-19 pounds."
Less motorized individual transport and climate-damaging gases in the city
Nina Köninger from Green City eV was also pleased with the commitment of the Munich startup scene:
"Our goal is, among other things, to reduce private motorized transport and the emission of climate-damaging gases. With the proceeds from the fundraising run, we will take another important step forward in our approximately 150 events and campaigns annually.
