The City of Munich is awarding the 2019 Engagement Prize, recognizing companies for their exemplary social commitment to the benefit of the Munich population. Applications are open until May 15, 2019.
The annual 'Munich's Outstanding Companies' award honors companies that have demonstrated exemplary commitment to the well-being of Munich's residents. This means that the company's location is not the deciding factor, but rather its positive impact on Munich's urban society.
Who can apply for the 2019 Engagement Award?
Any company that has made a social contribution to Munich in the past year is eligible to apply. This commitment can take many forms: A monetary or in-kind donation can qualify for the award. However, the release of employees for volunteer work, the free use of company infrastructure by non-profit organizations, and even the provision of pro bono services, for example, in the areas of education, poverty, the environment, health, migration, or social disadvantage, are also recognized.
Even micro- and small businesses can apply. Their commitment will be evaluated based on, among other things, its sustainability and creativity, its impact (and long-term impact) both externally and within the company, and whether it serves as a role model.
The award winners will be honored at a celebratory evening event at the end of the year. The winners do not receive a cash prize. The 'Munich's Outstanding Companies' award is non-material and consists of a certificate and a sculpture.
