The City of Munich is awarding the 2020 Engagement Prize. This is the third time the city has honored companies for their exemplary social commitment to the benefit of the Munich population. Applications are open until April 15, 2020.
The 2020 Engagement Award for 'Munich's Outstanding Companies' honors companies that have demonstrated exemplary commitment and added value to Munich's residents. This means that the company's location is not the deciding factor, but rather its positive impact on Munich's urban society.
Who can apply for the 2020 Engagement Award?
Any company that has made a social contribution to Munich in the past year is eligible to apply. This commitment can take a variety of forms: a monetary or in-kind donation, releasing employees for volunteer work, or allowing non-profit organizations to use company infrastructure free of charge.
This also includes the provision of pro bono services, for example in the areas of education, poverty, the environment, health, migration or social disadvantage.
Award-winning: Commitment to a vibrant and livable Munich
The City of Munich Awards are presented in four categories. In addition to medium-sized and large companies, micro- and small businesses can also apply. The number of employees is the decisive factor. The jury also examines the sustainability and creativity of the commitment, its external and internal impact, and whether it serves as a role model. These five criteria are clearly stated:
- Sustainability,
- External impact,
- Inward effect,
- Role model & creativity and
- quantitative factors.
The award winners will be honored at an evening ceremony at the end of the year. The winners will not receive a cash prize. The 2020 Engagement Award for 'Munich's Outstanding Companies' is a non-material honor and consists of a certificate and a sculpture.
