But hurry now — only until July 15th can Munich startups register for the Munich Startup Award and have your pitch nominated for Bits & Pretzels! This gives you the chance to pitch on the Central Stage, win the Golden Pretzel, and, as a Munich startup, win the Munich Startup Award with its €5,000 prize money!
At the Bits & Pretzels startup festival, 100 selected startups from various industry clusters will once again compete for the grand finale in 2018. A panel of top international VCs and investors will nominate and invite the participants from the first round to compete for the "Golden Pretzel" on the Center Stage in front of 2,500 attendees. The Munich Startup Award, in turn, goes to the best Munich startup that prevails against the other pitch participants.
Show, don't tell!
This year's competition focuses exclusively on the startup's product or service. This year's motto is: “Show, don’t tell”This means: There should be no long talk about market size, finances, team structure, or the startup's history. The focus of the pitch is solely on the product. It should be clear which 'pain' the product offers a solution for.
So how can a startup participate? There are three options:
- Startups with investors: Ask your VC, business angel or incubator to nominate you.
- Bootstrapped Startups: You can apply for admission using the application form.
- Investors or other multipliers can also nominate startups directly.
Only startups that have received a maximum of Series A funding are eligible. From this pool, the 100 best startups will be selected by an international jury and will be able to compete on the pitch stage.
