Financing in three months: BayStartUP opens startup incubator

With intensive coaching for the financing round: Startups can now apply for "BayStartUP Go." BayStartUP aims to get startups ready for financing in three months. Teams wishing to participate in the program must have an innovative and scalable business model and at least a six-figure capital requirement. Startups work quickly toward their financing in the BayStartUP Go Incubator at the MTZ, in close proximity to BayStartUP's financing experts. The goal: to present their business idea to investors from the BayStartUP network and enter the market. BayStartUP Go is free of charge; startups only pay a small fee for using the incubator's workstations.

Through the BayStartUP network, founders have access to more than 270 listed business angels, over 100 institutional investors, and opportunities for financing ranging from €50,000 to €5 million. To further leverage the potential of Germany's largest financing network, BayStartUP now offers startup teams "BayStartUP Go," a three-month intensive coaching program during the pre-seed phase. The program takes place in the BayStartUP Go Incubator at the MTZ. The founders benefit from proximity to BayStartUP coaches, who support them in business concept and product development. The incubator offers them a working environment with state-of-the-art presentation technologies that the teams can use to develop their ideas.

"With the BayStartUP Go Incubator, we are further expanding our long-standing collaboration with BayStartUP. For the post-program phase, the MTZ offers startups space, infrastructure, and know-how for the development of their companies."

says Cristina Mann, Administrative Director of the MTZ.

“In addition to preparing for investor meetings, the teams work with the BayStartUP coaches to develop weekly milestones and clear tasks,”

describes Carsten Rudolph, Managing Director of BayStartUP, the new coaching program. Weekly stand-up meetings and reports facilitate an active exchange of experiences. The primary goal of this coaching phase is for the startups to be able to provide potential investors and business partners with initial key figures and experience, in addition to presentable documents (business plan, pitch deck, financial planning). By the end of the coaching phase, the likelihood of obtaining financing should be significantly increased.

BayStartUP Go: Application criteria and process

While the regular BayStartUP financing coaching and the BayStartUP workshops are aimed at startups in all stages of their founding, do not impose any requirements on team size, and are open as to whether and in what form the teams seek financing, startups for "BayStartUP Go" must meet certain criteria.

"BayStartUP Go" is aimed at startups in the pre-seed and founding phases. Teams seeking admission to the program must have an innovative and scalable business model and at least a six-figure capital requirement. The minimum requirement for a company headquarters is a planned company establishment in Bavaria; ideally, the headquarters is already located in Munich or Bavaria. The company must have been founded no more than one year ago. The team size should be between two and four people – the program is expressly not aimed at individuals.

Anyone who would like to apply for “BayStartUP Go” simply sends the 2-pager with the planning status of their business idea via email to financing@baystartup.de. The information will be treated confidentially. Startups already participating in the BayStartUP financing coaching program will be actively nominated for the program by the BayStartUP coaches.
