On 20 November 2025, the Export Prize Bavaria For the 18th time, the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, the Association of Bavarian Chambers of Industry and Commerce, the Association of Bavarian Chambers of Crafts, and Bayern International are honoring companies that have achieved impressive international success.
The award is specifically aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises based in Bavaria with a maximum of 100 full-time employees (excluding trainees). It evaluates not only economic success in foreign markets but also the personal suitability of the management.
Five categories, one stage
The award is presented in five categories: Industry, Trade, Crafts, Services, and Land of Gourmets. Each category represents a distinct economic sector, whose distinctive features are taken into account in the evaluation. The winning companies receive a custom-made trophy from a Bavarian artisan, an official certificate, and an exclusive digital winner's seal. In addition, a two-minute short film will be created about each award-winning company, which will be shown at the awards ceremony and made available to the company for its own marketing purposes.
Strong platform for medium-sized businesses
An independent jury decides on the winners. The award distinguishes itself by specifically supporting small and medium-sized businesses – regardless of whether they are traditional industrial companies, specialized craft businesses, or creative service providers. Players from the "Land of Gourmet" sector – including innovative food concepts or regional design ideas – are also given a platform.
Applying for the Bavarian Export Award is seen as an opportunity for Bavarian companies to showcase their internationalization strategies to the public. The short film and the Golden Seal offer additional tools for self-marketing.
The startup scene benefits particularly from this: Many young companies from the state capital are striving to enter international markets early on. An award from the Bavarian Export Prize can therefore not only be a validation of previous work, but also open new doors – for example, towards investors, strategic partners, or international customers.
