Since 2007, the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, the Association of Bavarian Chambers of Industry and Commerce, the Association of Bavarian Chambers of Skilled Crafts, and Bavaria International have awarded the Bavarian Export Prize. The prize is awarded in five categories: industry, skilled crafts, trade, services, and "Land of Culinary Excellence" to companies that have achieved exceptional success in international business.
The competition is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises with a maximum of 100 employees (excluding trainees) that are successful in foreign markets. The first-place winners in the categories of services, trade, skilled crafts, industry, and pleasure country will be honored with a two-minute short film about their company and its success story. These short films, which the companies can use for promotional purposes, will also be shown during the awards ceremony on November 22nd. The award-winning companies will also be honored with a custom-made trophy from a Bavarian artisan and a certificate.
Applications for the Bavarian Export Prize 2023 can be submitted until July 31, 2023. The winners will be honored on November 22, 2023, the eve of the IHK Trade & Connect.
At last year’s Export Award 2022, the Munich-based company Supernutural in the "Land of Pleasure" category. The company, founded in 2015 by Timo and Amelie Sperber, also presented its fresh nut butter at the event initiated by Munich Startup and the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria. 'Startup meets craftsmanship' in 2019.
