The Ruffinihaus Creative Hub am Rindermarkt opened its doors to the third generation of cultural and creative entrepreneurs in March 2025. A total of 32 companies from fields such as architecture, design, film, art, and software will now use the incubator location in the heart of Munich for the next two years. The companies were selected from 102 applications in a two-stage application process by Kreativ München.
An incubator for creative entrepreneurs
The Ruffinihaus Creative Hub aims to create ideal conditions for the further development of companies in the cultural and creative industries. The focus is on supporting founders, self-employed individuals, and entrepreneurs who want to further develop their business models and take the next entrepreneurial step. Participants in the new batch of Kreativ München are supported through consulting, training, and networking opportunities, as well as through the provision of experimental spaces and events that enable companies to test their business models and gain valuable market experience.
"The Ruffinihaus is a place that brings creative people together, enables innovative projects, and fosters ideas for the future. It's a personal concern of mine to provide affordable and representative spaces for creative professionals. I wish everyone involved every success. What makes me particularly happy is that the participants so far have shown that, with this support, they are able to subsequently finance their own offices on the open market."
thinks Jacqueline Charlier, Municipal Representative of the City of Munich, at the official welcome of the new generation.
Focus on networking and collaboration
In addition to the individual workspaces in the specially designed offices, the Ruffinihaus is also a center for creative collaboration. The close networking of the various artistic disciplines is intended to lead to mutual inspiration and enable valuable encounters and collaborations. Christian Scharpf, new economic advisor of the city of Munich, emphasizes:
"With the Ruffinihaus Creative Hub, we offer the cultural and creative industries a business incubator specifically tailored to their needs. The industry combines aesthetic with economic creativity and provides valuable impetus for Munich as a business location. The hub offers the industry greater visibility, individual development opportunities, and thus increased growth opportunities."
And Marek Wiechers, City Director from the Cultural Department, adds:
"I'm delighted that the third generation of cultural and creative professionals can now work at Ruffinihaus. New ideas are developed here, from which great, creative projects can emerge. The individually designed offices serve as the companies' calling cards, and the close interaction between people from different artistic fields leads to mutual inspiration, important networks, and valuable encounters. It's a wonderful place of opportunity."
New residency program starts
In addition to the new occupancy, a residency program in collaboration with the Bureau du Design de la Mode et des Métiers d'Art in Paris (BDMMA) will also begin its third term. As part of this program, a designer from Paris will be invited to Munich for three months, while a Munich-based creative will take up a workplace at the Parisian incubator "Les Ateliers de Paris." Applications for a return visit by a Munich designer are due by April 29, 2025, via the Kreativ München website possible.
