Nui Care and ADAC launch digital care assistant

The Munich-based startup Nui Care supports family caregivers with its app in organizing their daily care. A partnership with the German Automobile Club (ADAC) now makes the service available free of charge to ADAC members.

The Nui Care app was developed in collaboration with family caregivers to help them meet the challenges of everyday caregiving. It provides information on home care, answers questions, and helps with organizing daily caregiving. For example, it helps with applying for benefits, creating care plans, and learning care techniques. This service is also supported by a team of care experts who offer personalized consultations. The app cooperates with the startup founded in 2019 with health insurance companies such as AOK Bayern, DAK-Gesundheit, and Allianz Private Health Insurance. Nui Care's partners include care providers such as Landhausküche by Apetito, Ihreapotheken.de, and Pflegewächter.

This also makes the Munich startup's offering interesting for the ADAC. According to an internal survey conducted by the automobile club, approximately three million ADAC members are already involved in caring for relatives. These members will now receive free access to the app "Nui Care: Caregiving Relatives." After a six-month test phase, a decision will be made as to whether the service will be continued. The solution is also the result of an investment that the ADAC made at the beginning of 2023 in the Munich startup.

ADAC donates for every download of the Nui Care app

To mark the launch of this ADAC Care Assistant, ADAC SE will donate €1.00 to the ADAC Foundation for individual support for every download of the Nui Care app with a valid ADAC registration, as well as an additional €1.00 to the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf for research into the stresses of family caregivers. This support program is active until September 30, 2024, with a total donation goal of €20,000.

Markus C. Müller, CEO of Nui Care, emphasizes:

"Caring for relatives requires a great deal of organization and coordination. Bureaucratic hurdles and a lack of counseling services make this task difficult. Together with ADAC SE, we want to change this and provide comprehensive support to family caregivers in their daily caregiving routine – digitally with the Nui Care app, as part of the ADAC Care Assistant, and also personally with Nui experts. Because caring for relatives is always an emotional issue, one that should be characterized above all by human attention, empathy, and closeness."

Sascha Coccorullo, Head of Strategy, New Business & Research at ADAC, says:

"A need for care in the family can happen to anyone. With the ADAC Care Assistant, we support our members in this situation, offering them comprehensive support for home care. Together with our partner Nui Care, we are moving one step closer to our stated goal: a future in which people in need of care can live with dignity even in old age, and in which family members can provide loving, high-quality care alongside their work, family, and hobbies."
