Which startups have the best prospects of successfully completing a financing round soon? We take a look into the crystal ball and introduce you to five companies that are ripe for investment.
Farminsect enables farmers to produce animal feed from insect larvae. To this end, the startup has developed automated fattening systems that are operated by farmers on their farms. The founders then supply them weekly with young larvae, which are fattened with regional waste materials such as shells or crop residues. This provides farmers with a more sustainable alternative protein source for their animal feed. In addition, the fattening systems produce Farminsect Compost as a byproduct, which can be sold as fertilizer or used to produce biogas. According to the startup, farmers should be able to reduce their feed costs by up to 30 percent. Furthermore, this circular economy system reduces CO2 emissions in agriculture. The Munich-based company has already attracted considerable attention with its solution; from High-Tech Gründerfonds and Bayern Kapital to the European Innovation Council, various investors have already invested in Farminsect. The latest financing round, completed in fall 2023, brought the startup an additional €8 million. The dealroom signal stands at a total of 63 points. (Image: Farminsect)
