Airmo aims to advance climate protection from space with its satellites. To this end, the Munich-based startup, founded in 2022, plans to launch its first satellite into space between late 2024 and early 2025. Equipped with a spectrometer and lidar technology, it will be able to detect and measure greenhouse gases in real time, with far greater accuracy than ESA and NASA currently do. This data will then serve as a basis for companies to make better decisions in emissions management. Last summer, the company completed its first Airmo successfully closed its €5.2 million pre-seed financing round, with funding from space tech investor Christian Federspiel, Ananda Impact Ventures, Pi-Labs, E2MC, and Antler.
