Voltstorage aims to make an important contribution to the energy transition with redox flow storage technology. With its storage systems based on the particularly environmentally friendly redox flow technology, electricity from renewable energy sources can be used completely regardless of the weather. This allows green energy to be efficiently utilized around the clock. In parallel, the Munich-based startup is also developing iron-salt technology, which, due to its special properties, is particularly suitable as a long-term storage battery to ensure the permanent base load capacity of wind and solar farms.
The Munich-based startup, founded in 2016 by TUM graduates Jakob Bitner, Michael Peither, and Felix Kiefl and now employing 80 people, is currently expanding its organizational structure—in parallel with its move to its new location at the Munich North Technology Park, which began in September. Co-founder and current CTO Michael Peither will assume the role of CIO, focusing on innovation and business development. Former COO Verena Graf will become the company's CTO. Michael Reinartz, previously Vice President Production & Logistics at solar energy specialist Sonnen GmbH, will be responsible for organizing production, including warehousing and logistics, as Voltstorage's new COO, and will establish series production of the storage solutions.
“Foundation for growth and success”
By expanding the management team and redefining the respective specialist areas, the company intends to continue its growth strategy. Jacob Bitner, Co-Founder and CEO of Voltstorage, the company sees itself as well positioned with the expanded management team:
"We see our ambition to be the innovation leader in the field of redox flow storage technologies as a mandate to always think ahead and act with foresight in our work. This also includes dynamically developing the entire company and laying the foundations for growth and success. We are therefore proud to have gained Michael Reinartz, a proven industry expert and new COO. He has precisely the experience we need to further scale our production and business development. At the same time, we are pleased that our current managers, Verena Graf and Michael Peither, can even better contribute their many years of experience and expertise in newly tailored areas of responsibility."
Michael Peither, Co-founder and CIO of Voltstorage, adds:
"Pursuing and helping to shape innovations, the latest trends, opportunities and market requirements, and technological advances are fundamental tasks that we strive to fulfill as an innovation leader in storage technologies for renewable energies. Together with an outstanding team of international experts, we are ideally positioned to do so. Therefore, I am taking on this newly created position with great joy and motivation."
Verena Graf, CTO of Voltstorage, says:
"We have made significant progress in recent years and created an organization that will enable us to continue our current scale-up phase. I am excited to be able to contribute to Voltstorage's growth and success through my future responsibilities in product development and expanding our technological leadership, and to use our products to drive the energy transition."
And Michael Reinartz, COO of Voltstorage, says:
"I've known the young company Voltstorage for several years as an innovative and dynamic company that has achieved considerable success in the development and utilization of redox flow batteries. I'm honored to now be part of this team and to be able to work together with my colleagues to ensure that the vision of 'renewable energy day and night' soon becomes a reality."
