Chatbot startup Chatchamp acquired by Trbo

Chatchamp has developed a chatbot that advises online shoppers on their purchases. The Munich-based startup has now been acquired by Trbo, a website personalization platform also based in Munich.

With Trbo's AI-based platform, website operators can tailor their web presence to each visitor thanks to dynamic on-site personalization. The customer service chatbot Chatchamp's platform is a great fit with Trbo's offerings – which is why the two companies have been partnering for several years. This partnership has included joint marketing activities as well as technical integration.

Now Trbo has fully acquired Chatchamp. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Both companies intend to continue operating separately for the time being.

“Optimal personal fit” at Trbo and Chatchamp

Felix Schirl, Managing Director of Trbo, explained:

"With Chatchamp, we have a long-standing partner at our side who perfectly complements our product portfolio. Due to the high demand for a guided selling product, we were faced with the question of whether to pursue our own development or work more closely with Chatchamp in the future. We have now decided to take this step, not least because of the optimal personal fit."

Felix Schröder, Managing Director of Chatchamp, adds:

"The decision to work even more closely with Trbo in the future was an easy one for us. Over the past few years, we've already gained experience with Trbo's extensive expertise as a personalization provider and A/B testing tool, and we've also developed successful use cases through several mutual customers. Since data exchange and the further use of this data are becoming increasingly important, we have already relied on interfaces in the past. With Trbo as a personalization software with a variety of existing data interfaces, we have the perfect fit to combine the results of our product consultation with other data sources, thus ensuring an optimal, holistic user experience."
