The Social Entrepreneurship Akademie (SEA) was founded in 2010 as a network organization of the entrepreneurship centers of the four Munich universities and has since supported numerous students and founders in developing or further developing their own social entrepreneurial ideas. In 2016, Fabian Eckert and Florian Pachaly founded Recup with the goal of establishing a Germany-wide reusable deposit system and thus creating a simple, attractive, and sustainable alternative to disposable packaging. The Munich-based company has now established a nationwide deposit network with over 13,500 collection and return points. This has also been well received by investors: In June this year, Recup raised 12 million euros for the further expansion of its reusable systemTogether with existing shareholder Müller Medien, the Blueworld Group, Summiteer, and GLS Bank are participating in the financing round.
