Avelios has set itself the goal of digitalizing and optimizing processes in hospitals. the startup founded in 2020 a modular software platform has been developed. The individual modules, for example for the outpatient clinic or individual wards, digitize workflows and enable digital documentation of patient care. They also offer additional functions such as an automatically generated doctor's letter and intelligent input fields.
Avelios' solution is already in use in the outpatient clinic and laboratory at the LMU Hospital in Munich. The startup is currently rolling it out to other hospitals and departments. With the fresh capital, the company now plans to further accelerate this rollout and the development of additional software modules.
Nicolas Jakob, one of the founders of Avelios, explains:
"AI can fundamentally improve healthcare, but only on the basis of structured data that is currently lacking. Avelios is deliberately digitizing patient care in such a way that precisely this missing structured data can be automatically generated and its full potential realized."
Sebastian Krammer, also co-founder of Avelios, adds:
“The frustration with incredible inefficiencies and inadequate software solutions that I have experienced as a physician myself is the greatest motivation to continuously develop software that solves this major problem.”
Avelios aims to “fundamentally improve the quality of treatment in hospitals”
The Avelios software is designed to offer hospitals numerous tangible added values. Digitalized workflows and fast, comprehensive documentation are intended to increase process efficiency and staff and patient satisfaction. Furthermore, low implementation effort and complete modularity and networkability are intended to make the solution attractive for clinical IT departments.
Henrik Grosse Hokamp, partner at lead investor Revent, says:
"We see enormous potential in Avelios to fundamentally improve the quality of care in hospitals. The unique modular software platform enables hospitals to build a modern and scalable IT infrastructure without any implementation effort."
Daniela Bach, Senior Investment Manager at High-Tech Founders Funds, adds:
"Many hospitals still handle processes using pen and paper. We believe the digital revolution in hospitals will accelerate, and the strong Avelios team has what it takes to become a major player in this space."
