IAA Mobility 2021: How much startup does the mobility trade fair offer?

The IAA is taking place in Munich for the first time this year and has reinvented itself: The former auto show aims to succeed as a modern mobility conference. We've gathered some impressions from the exhibition halls and the 'Open Space' in Munich's city center.

Less startup and more corporate – The open spaces in Munich's city center are home to the industry's big players, with some truly spectacular displays, like this one by Mercedes-Benz at Odeonsplatz. A sculpture made of recyclable fibers by US artist Janet Echelman floats above a raised, walkable platform, swaying in the breeze. Very impressive. Of course, the cars on display here are also meant to impress. And that's not all: Interested visitors can test drive the vehicles on display, although advance registration is required. (Photo: R.
