7 Munich Female Founders You Should Know

According to the Female Founders Monitor, 165 of 1,510 startups in Munich have a woman on their founding team, which is just 10.9 percent. Nationwide, however, the proportion of female founders averaged 19 percent between 2016 and 2018, according to the KfW (KfW German Development Bank). So, Munich has some catching up to do. Until then, we'll introduce you to some of Munich's female founders who serve as role models for other women and can inspire them to start their own businesses.

Veronika Riederle from Demodesk: The Munich-based startup Demodesk, which has developed a screen-sharing platform for virtual customer interaction, was founded in 2017 by Veronika Riederle (3rd from left in the picture) and Alex Popp. As a role model she named Interview with Munich Startup Elon Musk: “An absolute visionary.” But things are going well for Riederle too: In a Series A financing Demodesk raised an investment of €6.7 million last September.
