Startup Champs 2020: These Munich startups are entering the race

The 2020 Startup Champ will be crowned at Digital Day on June 19. Three Munich-based startups, Presize, Nachhilferocks, and Clonck, are also participating in the title race.

At the Startup Champs pitch competition, which is part of the Digital Day On June 19, young companies will have the opportunity to present themselves in a virtual pitch to a prominent jury and a broad audience via livestream. From Munich, in addition to Munich Startup, the Plant1 is involved as organizer. The competition is under the patronage of Dorothee Bär, the Federal Government Commissioner for Digitalization.

Following a public vote, the startups that will compete in the final pitch for Munich have now been determined: Presize, Nachhilferocks, and Clonck. Anyone interested can join via livestream on June 19 starting at 10:30 a.m.

“Measurement accuracy comparable to that of a professional tailor”

Presize aims to solve the returns problem of online fashion stores and has developed an AI-powered, browser-based solution that determines the correct size for shoppers. interview The three founders Leon Szeli, Tomislav Tomov and Awais Shafique explain their business model to Munich Startup as follows:

"Through our unique video approach, we achieve measurement accuracy comparable to that of a professional tailor. We have developed a technology (patent pending) that allows us to create a 3D model of the body and extract body measurements from it. Our competitors, who use questionnaire plug-ins or photo apps, fail to map the individual body, meaning the measurements are less accurate and less robust."

Tutoring by students for students

Alongside Presize, Nachhilferocks qualified for the final round. With their solution, founders Arno Eggers and Pascal Resch aim to enable schools to build their own tutoring portal, by their own students, for their own students. The startup has already completed a successful pilot phase with a Munich high school.

App for tuners and car lovers

As the third startup, Clonck to the virtual pitch stage of Startup Champs. Clonck is an app for car spare parts for a wide variety of vehicle models. Users can also find original repair manuals from various vehicle manufacturers, designed to empower them to perform repairs independently.
