Startups are leading the way: Digitalization solutions that companies need now

The spread of the coronavirus is currently holding a mirror up to many companies, highlighting the extent to which digitalization has already progressed within their own company and where there is still room to catch up. Suddenly, employees are being asked to work from home, meetings are being replaced by video conferences, and a way to maintain day-to-day business and daily collaboration is being found. This requires appropriate technical equipment, collaboration tools, and new working methods and processes.

When it comes to flexibility, rapid adaptation to new situations, and the development of innovative solutions, startups are ahead of the game, supporting large companies in their digitalization efforts with their products and services. The following five examples from Techfounders startups.

KIProtect: Data protection for all workflows

KIProtect is a security level for data technology and artificial intelligence and is integrated directly into companies' data processing systems. It primarily detects personal and sensitive data. Depending on the customer's business and security requirements, this data is transformed using modern pseudonymization, anonymization, and encryption techniques, allowing it to be stored and processed securely.

Qbound: Cybersecurity in times of home office and cloud solutions

Qbound offers companies an innovative solution for (remote) access to applications, cloud services, and IoT devices. The startup has developed a so-called Zero Trust solution that protects internet-connected devices and applications and prevents them from being accessed by users without successful authentication – "never trust, always verify." This makes the qbound solution more secure and user-friendly than conventional VPN and firewall systems. IT system administrators also receive a straightforward solution for monitoring, evaluating, and adjusting network access permissions.

Ondewo: Dialogue between man and machine

The Austrian high-tech startup has developed an AI that fully automates conversations between humans and machines. The platform for natural language understanding can be customized for each customer to achieve the highest possible accuracy for specific use cases. With the platform, customers can digitize business models, develop innovative digital products and services, and make existing ones even more intelligent. Another advantage: Automation can significantly reduce costs.

HUH Corporate: Further training — as individual as each employee

HUH Corporate develops AI learning solutions for corporate training. AI-driven tutors chat with users daily via a mobile application and send them personalized learning content. The algorithm adapts the program's objectives to each user's characteristics and unique needs. The platform was also designed to be easily integrated into every employee's daily routine without a significant effort or complex implementation process.

Retorio: Recruiting with artificial intelligence

Retorio analyzes applicant videos and helps find suitable candidates for open positions. The software combines artificial intelligence and machine learning with scientific findings from psychology and organizational research. Retorio recognizes a person's communication behavior and unique characteristics from even short application videos. This allows companies to identify talented individuals more effectively and reliably and compare them with various job profiles. Retorio is currently offering two months of free use of the software to help companies maintain their recruiting processes.
