The German Aviation Innovation Award has been reorganized and this year is looking for young talents in the aviation industry as “IDL Aviation Talents”. Applications are possible until March 31st.
Under the motto "Your ideas for the future of aviation and climate-neutral flying," this year's German Aviation Innovation Award is calling on young talents to submit their innovative ideas. Possible topics include new materials, manufacturing methods such as 3D printing, and the digitalization of the aviation industry. Under the name "IDL Aviation Talents," the award focuses on schoolchildren, students, and young professionals.
“IDL Aviation Talents” now every two years
From this year onwards, the award will be presented annually to young and experienced aviation innovators: In even-numbered years, the Price The "IDL Aviation Talents" program is aimed at young participants. In odd-numbered years, the "IDL Aviation Masters" award is aimed at experienced experts.
“With the reorientation of the Aviation Innovation Award and the associated opening of the competition to young talents, we are offering our young talent the opportunity to contribute creative ideas to shaping the environmentally friendly air transport of the future,”
says Rolf Henke, DLR Executive Board Member for Aeronautics Research and Technology.
Presentation at the ILA

The ideas do not need to be fully developed. Visions and initial ideas are also welcome. All those shortlisted will receive an invitation to the International Aerospace Exhibition in Berlin. There, the finalists will pitch their ideas on May 13th on the ILA Future Lab stage in front of a large audience of representatives from industry, science, politics, and the media from the aerospace sector. A jury of experts from the aviation industry, chaired by Rolf Henke, will select the winners.
