Million-dollar financing for video recruiting startup Retorio

A consortium of business angels is investing a single-digit million amount in Retorio The Munich-based startup offers AI-based video recruiting software. New investors include Infineon supervisory board member Ulrich Holdenried and former SAP manager Wolfgang Kemna.

The Munich-based startup Retorio was founded in 2018 by Christoph Hohenberger, Patrick Oehler, and Abdurrahman Namli from the Technical University of Munich. The startup's software uses artificial intelligence to analyze short videos of applicants. The AI is designed to uncover personality traits and communication behavior of applicants. According to the startup, the AI's accuracy is over 92 percent compared to the assessments of several professional recruiters.

Top-class customers are already using video recruiting software

says Christoph Hohenberger, co-founder of Retorio.

"That's why we deliberately decided against multiple institutional offers for this financing round. Instead, we want to focus on the excellent network of our angel investors. We are particularly proud to have attracted high-ranking investors spread across the entire German entrepreneurial landscape."

The Video recruiting startup already counts Personio, BMW and Lufthansa are among its customers.
