Retorio is a video-based behavioral intelligence platform that combines artificial intelligence and machine learning with insights from modern behavioral and differential psychology. The company's software uses scientific findings and AI methods to create a sound data foundation for recruiting and personnel development. The video AI can use short video sequences to provide a scientifically valid assessment of how well an applicant matches the job requirements and fits the desired corporate culture based on observable behavior.
After onboarding, employees are immersed in realistic conversation situations from their everyday work life through video simulations. The AI provides concrete feedback and suggestions for improving conversational behavior.
With its solution, Retorio aims to help companies make better personnel decisions, make processes fairer, drive transformation processes, and provide as many people as possible with access to personalized training.
Expansion of customer success and sales teams
In a recent financing round, the Munich-based startup, which was founded in 2018 by former doctoral students from the Technical University of Munich, has now raised seven-figure capital. In addition to the existing investor Basinghall Partners, which already invested in the Munich startup in 2021, Retorio can now count two additional venture capital funds among its investors: Conviction VC and Sofia Angels VenturesRetorio has also attracted several private investors, including the family offices of a current and former DAX CEO and a software entrepreneur. The fresh capital will be used to further expand the customer success and sales teams.
“The training and development sector in particular is booming”
Patrick Oehler, Co-Founder and Managing Director Retorio, says:
"Our Enterprise segment, in particular, is driving our growth enormously. Several major customers are now rolling out the Retorio platform globally. Who better to support us in this than two long-standing CEOs of major German DAX companies? With their help, we can better understand the challenges currently facing large corporations."
And Christoph Hohenberger, Co-Founder and Managing Director Retorio, adds:
"The training and development sector in particular is booming. Companies and investors have recognized that business success today depends significantly on their employees' direct customer interaction. We are pleased with this development and, thanks to our new investors, are now able to grow with our customers' needs. Especially when solving strategic issues, the input of experienced CEOs helps us translate these into concrete product solutions."
