Arx Robotics and the Renk Group, a provider of drive solutions for the military and civil sectors, are launching a strategic partnership. Together, they aim to accelerate international expansion unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) drive forward, develop new products and digitize existing fleets.
Specifically, Renk is integrating Arx's AI-based Mithra OS operating system into its mobility solutions. The operating system enables the software-based transformation of existing vehicles into networked, autonomous systems. Both companies aim to provide armed forces with improved real-time situational awareness and greater operational efficiency.
Marc Wietfeld, CEO and co-founder of Arx Robotics, explains:
"Defense companies today are at an inflection point where software, automation, and system connectivity will redefine the meaning of military capabilities. Thanks to Renk's industrial strength and established market presence, the partnership will enable us to unlock new opportunities for scale and global reach."
Focus on scaling and international expansion
The focus of the collaboration is on the industrialization and internationalization of software-defined defense technology. This includes the establishment of joint production facilities, the development of new platforms, and adaptation to regional requirements. Arx and Renk are targeting their expansion at markets such as the USA, Great Britain, France, Italy, India and the Middle East – regions where demand for autonomous defense technology is increasing.
Alexander Sagel, CEO of the Renk Group, emphasizes:
"This partnership combines Renk's expertise in high-performance mobility systems with Arx Robotics' innovative robotics and software capabilities. Together, we aim to scale production, expand international reach, and further develop autonomous functionalities."
Arx Robotics was founded in 2022 by former Bundeswehr officers Marc Wietfeld, Maximilian Wied, and Stefan Roebel. The company develops AI-supported UGVs and the world's first independent AI operating system for existing vehicles. With the Arx Robotic Framework, a combination of modular software and scalable hardware, Arx aims to play a key role in shaping the digital transformation of land forces.
