Have you ever thought about how many cardboard boxes you receive each year? The average German receives an average of 50 packages a year. With The Ocean Package, we, Joshua and Philip, ensure that only 1/20 of them end up in the trash!
4.2 billion parcels were shipped in Germany in 2021. In other figures, online shipping generated more than 6.45 million tons of CO2, in a market that grew by over 23 percent last year alone. This results in approximately 18.9 million tons of packaging waste.
How much material and therefore money can be saved through reusable packaging?
Compared to cardboard, our reusable packaging can be used 20 times more often, saving up to 95% of the packaging waste generated by single-use packaging. Furthermore, our packaging solution is 100% recyclable and reduces 80% of the CO2 emissions generated by single-use packaging.
In addition, our customers save up to 70% of packaging costs compared to comparable disposable products when using our reusable product 20 times.
We offer an individual and customer-specific packaging solution and have successfully obtained our PoC with the help of initial pilot projects.
Another USP is the use of ocean plastic in our packaging. This reduces acute marine pollution, improves our carbon footprint, and further guarantees the conservation of valuable resources by using at least 70% recycled materials in our packaging.
Our goal is to replace at least 5 million of the parcels sold in Germany with our reusable system by 2030. In numbers, that would mean replacing 210 million single-use packages with 10.5 million of our reusable packages.
