Wearables, hearables, and perhaps even smart fabrics in the future: The market for wearable, smart devices continues to grow. They offer ever more possibilities for collecting data and telling stories in new ways. But what exactly might this look like? How can these smart companions be used to deliver journalistic content? What design and development options do they offer?
How can we integrate hearables and wearables into the journalistic ecosystem of the day after tomorrow? Let your ideas run wild!
#FUTURELAB WORKSHOP
In the #FutureLab, we want to work with you to invent the journalism of the day after tomorrow using five future technologies. How can news organizations use these technologies to their advantage? In a three-hour workshop, you'll develop initial ideas for wearables—together with our tech partner Bragi and our media partner DRadio.
Our tech partner Bragi is a pioneer in the field of hearables and offers you the opportunity to work hands-on with one of their devices in the workshop.
Media partners include DRadiothat provide relevant content on the topic.
At the evening workshop, Nikolaj Hviid, founder and CEO of Bragi, will present the world's first hearable device, "The Dash." During the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to work hands-on with the device. DRadio will present the company's content and vision. Over the course of the evening, you'll have the opportunity to work with selected DRadio content.
Together with our coaches from methodworks, we'll then use the design thinking method to develop initial ideas about what journalism could look like in conjunction with wearables. You can then turn these ideas into working prototypes at a hackathon on June 9–11, 2017.

#FUTURELAB HACKATHON
The idea alone is not enough for us, we want real prototypes for the future! #FutureLab Hackathon From June 9th to 11th, you can code for all five technology tracks for a weekend.
