Kontentwerk builds a European metaverse for film and music

The Munich-based startup Kontentwerk, which focuses on innovating the distribution of audiovisual content, has partnered with the booking platform Gigmit and the Spanish design studio Plus Render to establish an open cultural space for film and music in the metaverse. The initiative, called CWXP, aims to open up new business opportunities for creatives in the metaverse.

CWXP stands for Creative Web3 Experience Europe and is a new space for the audiovisual, cultural, and creative sectors to test innovative digital solutions and business models. These include music and film festivals in the metaverse, monetization through NFTs, and co-creation through blockchains. The project is led by three partner companies, including the startup Kontentwerk. The company licenses rights for films, series and other programs for the TV and streaming market and advises producers, rights holders and distributors.

The managing directors of Kontentwerk, Salvatore Bruno and Florian Biró, explain:

"We're very excited to explore the possibilities of Web3 and the Metaverse from the perspective of the film industry. Since storytelling is the essence of our business, we believe that metaverse worlds and audiovisual arts can converge, shape, and inspire each other. The potential to create new and exciting experiences is endless."

CWXP is aimed at music creators, filmmakers, and visual artists, helping them harness the power of Web 3 technology to advance their careers, generate revenue, and gain a foothold in rapidly emerging digital creative markets. The platform provides infrastructure and training to enable access to these new technologies, even without prior knowledge, expertise, or access. Music lovers, festivalgoers, art enthusiasts, and those interested in NFTs, emerging technologies, and the metaverse can also attend various digital events and engage in interactive experiences on CWXP.

New events and collaborations

A key focus of the project is the organization of a variety of daily events in the fields of music, film, audiovisual media, art, fundraising events, cross-media, and more. Around 300 individual and group creators are expected to participate and network with each other in the future. Furthermore, the founders plan to present approximately 100 NFTs within the CWXP metaverse, thus providing a unique platform for digital art and collectibles.

Artists can register with Gigmit to participate in the first launch and beta test events under this link apply.
