The "track bed" of the backstage area will be transformed into an Impact Area at the Munich Startup Festival. Here, everything revolves around impact entrepreneurship and social innovation. This is where the City of Munich's economic development agency "Munich Business" will focus on future-oriented impact business. At the festival and here you can find out more about the topic and other business development opportunities for startups. In addition to Munich Business staff, you will also meet other network partners in the Impact Area. These include the Social Entrepreneurship Akademie (SEA), the Social Entrepreneurship network Germany (SEND) or Ananda Impact Ventures represent.
Impact startups and happy hour at the Munich Startup Festival
And several startups will also be present at the festival. The impact startups Greencent, who have developed an app to measure and reward CO2 savings in the mobility sector, Mellow, an innovative coaching platform for mental health, and Ikigai, an AI recruiting platform for talents and team leads, will present their innovative ideas.
While the festival's various food trucks leave little to be desired in terms of culinary delights, as an added treat, festivalgoers can "cycle" their own electricity on a smoothie bike and blend themselves a delicious smoothie. Impact Happy Hour takes place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 to 3 p.m.
Startup meets high-tech craftsmanship
Since 2018, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria has hosted a B2B speed dating format called "Space meets Handwerk," which is organized annually by the Chamber of Skilled Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria in collaboration with the AZO Space of Innovation. A similar format will take place at the Munich Startup Festival, just like the Impact Area, in the "Gleisbett" starting at 11 a.m. Innovation consultants from the Chamber of Skilled Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria will transform the central pagoda tent in the "Gleisbett" into a dialogue platform between startups and skilled crafts.
This is particularly interesting for startups looking for R&D partners for prototypes and (small-scale) series production. They often find what they're looking for in this format. Startups benefit not only from the manufacturing expertise of the craft businesses, but also from their flexibility and geographical proximity. Craft businesses, on the other hand, are interested in exciting projects with a high degree of customization and development potential.
