Online: Technical tutorial: Employing employees in a startup

Employing employees in the startup – employment of interns, students and mini-jobbers as well as the new eAU (electronic certificate of incapacity for work)

In 2022, startups in Germany will employ an average of 18.4 employees – often, startups initially rely on interns, working students, and marginal employees. Important social security considerations apply to these groups. Furthermore, as of January 1, 2023, the "yellow slip" for employers has been discontinued, and the electronic sick note (eAU) is mandatory for all employers.

In this tutorial, specialists from AOK Bayern give you tips and suggestions on the following questions:

  • What are the basics of social security contributions?
  • What should be considered when hiring interns, students or mini-jobbers?
  • What should be done if employees – whether working students, mini-jobbers or employees subject to insurance contributions – become ill?
  • What do I need to consider when applying for an electronic certificate of incapacity for work (eAU)?

Here you can find more information about the event.
