For the sixth time, the Senovation Award AgetechThe award recognizes solutions from startups that address the challenges of our aging society. Over the past five years, 300 startup teams from German-speaking countries have submitted their ideas for the award. The solutions cover all areas of life, from care and retirement to chronic illnesses.
“It is fascinating every year to see how small teams develop innovations that have a positive impact on the aging of society,”
says Frank Leyhausen, project manager of the Founders’ Prize.
Senovation Award: “Don’t categorize people into age groups like 50+ or 60+”
All adult applicants from Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland are eligible to participate. They can either have already founded a startup that develops services specifically for older people, or have developed a coherent concept but have not yet founded their company. Existing startups must not have been founded before June 29, 2020.
It is important for the award to address concrete challenges, as Leyhausen emphasizes:
"It is important to us that people are not categorized into age groups such as 50+ or 60+, but are addressed according to their challenges, for example, as pensioners, widows, or caregivers."
A jury consisting of experts from Bitkom, VDI-VDE, and the German Senior Citizens' League will select the winners. In addition to the prize money, the winners will also receive individual coaching.
Further information and the opportunity to apply can be found on the award website.
