This year's motto for Energy Start-up Bavaria is "On the Way to a Climate-Neutral Bavaria." The competition recognizes emerging and innovative companies that aim to contribute to Bavaria's sustainable energy future. In addition to the prize money, the competition also offers the opportunity to network with potential partner companies.
All energy-related startups can apply to Energy Start-up Bavaria. The competition is organized by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Bayern Innovativ, Zentrum Digitalisierung.Bayern, Bayernwerk, Baystartup, the Association of the Bavarian Energy and Water Industry, and the Austrian energy supplier Verbund.

Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger says:
"Current developments in Europe show how important it is to quickly move away from fossil fuels. On the path to a climate-neutral Bavaria, we must therefore shift into high gear! To achieve this, we also need new business models and technologies from startups. I am therefore pleased that this year we can once again help young companies turn their visions of a sustainable energy future into reality."
Applications are still possible until 10 August 2022 on-line possible. The ten finalists will be announced on September 21. They will present their ideas in a virtual jury meeting one week later, on September 28, 2022. The three winners will then be announced on October 10, 2022, at an awards ceremony at the Startup Demo Night of Baystartup in the Munich Tonhalle.
