All winners of the Munich Business Plan Competition will receive written expert feedback from entrepreneurs and investors as well as a prize money totaling 9,000 euros. Fabian Brunner, Head of the Bavarian Business Plan Competitions, says:
"In 2022, the field of participants in the Munich Business Plan Competition is as diverse as the Bavarian startup scene as a whole. It's striking that this year, several strong startups from the Bavarian regions are represented in the top positions. This shows that targeted local support and networking are working."
Munich Business Plan Competition: The five winners from Phase 2
First place goes to DymiumThe Munich-based company is developing a new method for the residue-free, minimally invasive removal of kidney stones. In Germany alone, 400,000 patients undergo endoscopic treatment for kidney stones each year. Half of these patients require follow-up surgery because residues in the kidney grow into new stones. Dymium technology, on the other hand, magnetizes fragments of previously broken kidney stones using a biocompatible substance, allowing surgeons to magnetically extract them without leaving any residue. This reduces the duration of the operation and avoids further operations.
With Nimmsta The runners-up also come from Munich. The startup has developed an industrial smart watch for intralogistics processes. It combines a smart watch, an industrial scanner, and an e-paper display with touch functionality. This should enable efficiency increases of over 40 percent.
In third place is Vestigas from Eggenfelden. The Lower Bavarian company has developed an algorithm that enables the digital processing of delivery documents in building materials logistics.
2NA FISH from Munich took fourth place with its platform technology for in vitro diagnostics for cancer. The technology is based on the spatial analysis of gene activity.
Fifth place is also taken by Cargokite a Munich-based team. The startup is developing an innovative, patent-pending, autonomous microcargo ship. Powered exclusively by wind energy, it is a zero-emission alternative to conventional freighters. The newly designed hull is designed to allow a kite system to be used as the sole propulsion system at a height of 300 meters, saving up to half the operating costs.
