High Jump Award honors Corona winners

The Hochsprung Award recognizes innovative start-up projects emerging from Bavarian universities. The three best submissions will receive a total of €6,500 in prize money.

The High Jump Award is looking for founders who have successfully navigated the coronavirus crisis. In addition to cash prizes for the three top-ranking startup teams, there will be a prize for the best pitch and a special award for the university that receives the most applications. The awards ceremony will take place virtually on December 9, 2021.

High Jump Award recognizes successful handling of Corona

Teams wishing to apply for the High Jump Award must meet the following criteria:

  • The business model was adapted quickly, creatively, and successfully to the crisis during the coronavirus pandemic. Examples include new sales channels, digitalization, or process restructuring. Applicants may also have developed new products or services that offer solutions to challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Applicant teams must have taken at least the first verifiable steps toward realizing their startup project. Already established companies must be no older than three years.
  • The start-up project was inspired or supported by a course or other offering at a Bavarian university – for example, by a start-up consultancy, an entrepreneurship center or a student initiative.
  • At least one team member was or is enrolled at a Bavarian university.

Participation in the competition is open to individuals or teams. The jury will consider three criteria in its evaluation: successful handling of the coronavirus pandemic, economic viability, and the team. Performance during the live pitch will also be considered.
