The winners of the High Jump Award 2019

The winners of the 2019 High Jump Award have been announced: Among them are the Munich high-tech startup Angsa and the Munich University of Applied Sciences.

With the Price Since 2015, innovative start-up projects that have emerged from Bavarian universities, as well as “enablers”, have been honored every year. Competition This year's theme was "Impact." The competition sought startups whose ideas could make the world a better place. A total of 36 startups from the Free State of Bavaria submitted their ideas. The six best were selected from all the applications and pitched their ideas to a jury of experts at the finals.

Angsa takes second place in the 2019 High Jump Award

This year, the Franconian startup Grino took first place in the Hochsprung Award with its energy-efficient and affordable PVOR (Photo Voltaic Reverse Osmosis) system. Munich-based high-tech startup Angsa took second place with its autonomous cleaning robot for green spaces. The startup is part of the TUM Incubator. Autark from Augsburg took third place with its app for autistic youth.

The Munich University of Applied Sciences also has reason to celebrate. It received the "Special University Award." This year, most applications came from university students.

The High Jump Program, funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, aims to promote start-up activities at Bavarian universities. Bavaria's Minister of Science Bernd Sibler on this:

"Our universities in Bavaria are true engines of innovation. This is where bright minds find solutions! Bringing these ideas into production requires courage, know-how, and support. With our Hochsprung program, we want to familiarize future young entrepreneurs at our universities with the possibilities of starting a business."
