The media world needs new solutions, and this is precisely where the Media Startup Fellowship program aims to support startups. Anyone with an innovative idea for the digital media sector or a prototype can apply. The idea should definitely already be validated. The Media Startup Fellowship will then help teams bring new ideas and products in the digital media sector to market maturity within nine months and launch their startups.
The Media Lab Bayern includes innovative ideas and prototypes for digital media from the following areas, among others, in the funding program:

How do startups benefit from the Media Startup Fellowship?
Specifically, the funding program offers:
- up to 50,000 euros in funding
- Exciting coaching and mentoring by startup and media experts
- Access to a large media network
The financial support includes a prototyping budget of up to €40,000, plus an additional €10,000 for consulting and media services. The first phase of the Media Startup Fellowship focuses on validating the prototype, finding customers, and developing a brand positioning. In the second phase, you will review your sales approaches. The Media Lab Bayern supports you in finding customers and connects you with the partner network and the media industry. In the third and final phase of the program, you will develop a sustainable business model. Topics such as financing and legal issues are also on the agenda.
The application deadline for the Media Startup Fellowship is February 14, 2021. The teams selected for Batch 9 will begin the fellowship, currently designed as a remote program, in April 2021.
