The Media Startup Fellowship supports young entrepreneurs in developing new solutions for the media industry. During the nine-month funding program, media startups are supported in their development with coaching, access to an extensive media network, and up to €50,000 in funding. Some parts of the program, such as coaching sessions and workshops, are held in-person, while others are delivered online.

Media Startup Fellowship: Support in three phases
The program is divided into three phases. Participants also receive financial support in each phase. Phase 1 of the fellowship begins with the validation of the startups' prototypes. The founders are also expected to find their first customers and develop a market positioning. During this phase, the founders receive coaching in the areas of vision & validation, MVP, and pitch. During this phase, the startups receive up to €10,000 in support.
The second phase focuses on optimizing sales and finding customers. Media Lab Bayern provides support with contacts in the partner network and the media industry. Coaching sessions on digital marketing and sales, problem-solution fit, and business modeling are designed to help the startups advance. Participants can also count on financial support of €10,000.
In the third and final phase, participants develop a sustainable business model and fundraising strategy. They also receive coaching on finance and forecasting and fundraising strategy. The payout in Phase 3 is €20,000. The program concludes with a demo day.
