EU project Deposit tests new funding instrument

To better promote this, the EU project Deposit is now seeking startups and SMEs interested in participating in a Europe-wide pilot study. Applications are open until October 10.

The Deposit project is funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The new concept will now be tested in a randomized control trial involving more than 90 companies from six EU countries.

Innovative SMEs and startups from Germany operating in the fields of smart health, smart mobility, or smart living are eligible to participate in the study. They must meet the EU definition of SMEs, which states that a company may have a maximum of 250 employees and a maximum turnover of €50 million or a maximum balance sheet total of €43 million.

During the course of the study, participants are expected to implement recommendations aimed at increasing their innovation potential. These recommendations are based on an individual interview, and the results will be discussed in a further personal meeting with the company. Furthermore, the success of the deposit tool as a new innovation tool must be regularly assessed.

Anyone who wants to secure this ultimately free innovation consulting and, at the same time, be part of a Europe-wide initiative in six countries – in addition to Germany, these include Croatia, Romania, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy – can apply online until October 10.
