Both companies, along with ten other startups from across Germany, will have the opportunity to participate in a free, three-month intensive program run by German Accelerator in New York and Silicon Valley. As part of this program, the startups also gain access to a network of 200 mentors, numerous partners, investors, and potential customers. German Accelerator also provides free office space in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, and New York, as well as a local team dedicated to supporting the founders and providing them with practical tips on topics such as go-to-market strategy, recruiting, and fundraising.
Female founders: a huge need to catch up in Germany
With the 2020 selection, the German Accelerator also announces a record: never before have so many female founders been sent to the USA. Seven of the twelve startups beginning the three-month intensive program in the USA have a woman on their founding team.
"We are delighted to have so many female founders in the program for the first time. Germany still has a lot of catching up to do in this area. With our offering, we want to explicitly encourage and specifically support women in expanding their startups into the US market or the Southeast Asian region."
thinks Matthias Notz, CEO and Managing Director of German Accelerator.
