The competence team for culture and creative industries of the state capital of Munich is looking for the most creative concept for the interim use of the former University of Design for the ideas competition Infanterie 14. The application deadline is June 30, 2019.
Located in the former barracks district near the Olympic Park, the building covers 5,000 square meters and is spread over five floors. Munich-based project developer Bauwerk is now making the building available for interim use until fall 2019.
Roderick Rauert, Managing Partner of Bauwerk Development:
"As project developers, we are also urban designers. We want to fulfill this responsibility not only with sophisticated architecture and functional housing concepts, but also create added value even before a new construction project is completed: Infanterie 14 is intended to be a place of creativity and exchange. We look forward to the ideas of the Munich residents."

All concepts will be reviewed and evaluated by an eight-member jury at the end of July. The jury includes Christoph Lemp, Managing Partner of Bauwerk Capital, actor Max von Thun, municipal representative Kristina Frank, and Jürgen Enninger, head of the Culture and Creative Industries Competence Team.
"Temporary uses have a lot of potential for a city like Munich. I'm pleased that Bauwerk, a project developer, is now providing temporary space for creative concepts,"
commented municipal officer Kristina Frank.
The feasibility of the concepts and safety also play a role in the decision. The winner will be announced at the beginning of August. They will receive a budget of €15,000 for the implementation of the concept. This will not be paid out, but will be used with professional support to realize the idea in the building. Interim use will begin in mid-August.
