The Munich-based startup Volabo wins in the 'Mobility' category at the Energy Awards, which were presented at the Handelsblatt Energy Summit.
Industry, Mobility, Smart Infrastructure, 'System City,' and Startup — these are the five categories for which an Energy Award was presented. The prizes, presented by Handelsblatt and partners, honor companies and projects that advance the energy transition with courage and commitment. The award in the Mobility category ultimately went to Volabo.

Volabo is a spin-off of the Bundeswehr University in Munich and has developed a 48-volt electric motor. This new motor is intended to bring greater efficiency and thus greater range to electromobility. The Munich-based startup replaces the copper coils and uses a Stator cage with aluminum barsThis will create a kind of virtual drive that is safer, more reliable, and more efficient than existing electric motors with a voltage of 400 volts.
